When The Nothing Phone is Available to the Public or Beta?
Nothing has planned to roll out the Nothing OS 3.0 in September 2024, as Carl Pei says, But it has not yet confirmed the exact dates and year.
As Carl says in the official video on Nothing on YouTube the next version of Nothing OS will come with the next phone which will be Nothing Phone (3), also this OS has integrated inbuilt AI features, and a preview of AI has been shown on those videos.
But Ai features are in the testing phase, so the CEO says, the phone (3) will probably come in mid-2025, which indicates that the Nothing OS 3.0 will come in 2025.
In fact, Nothing has recently rolled out the stables Nothing OS 2.6 version, based on the Android 14 to all of the Nothing Phones and CMF phones.
Is Nothing OS 3.0 based on Android 15?
Yes, the Nothing OS 3.0 comes with Android 15.

1. AI Assistant
The CEO Carl Pei shared on YouTube that they are working on an AI assistant and showing a demo of the developing version, he said that those features will come with the next Nothing Phone 3 the Next OS.
The Prototype Demo is so amazing and shows future vision, it works in real-time like Chat GPT, because they are collaborating with OpenAi.
They said that they are deeply integrated into this AI assistant on their inbuilt core Nothing OS system to get personalized and enhanced output and interact with you.
It works like other AI assistants like Apple Intelligence and Gemini AI on Pixel devices. It can have full access to all of the features, and it gives the answer based on your commands, which may be worked with on a device, not yet confirmed.
2. Nothing OS 3.0: Enhanced Lock Screen Customization
The Nothing OS 3.0 has an exciting look and more customization options with more clock style, widgets customization, and sleeker lock screen layouts.
As Carl Pei recently shared on X, “Sorry in advance to the team for this leak… but I’m too excited!”, revealing that the Next version of OS 3.0 has the enhanced customization feature on the Lockscreen.
Look at the images, now users can customize the clock faces as they love, more clock styles are available and the weirdest is so customizable, and can choose your loved one font styles.
The design style is so simpler than the iOS lock screen.
3. Redesigned Quick Settings Panel
Now the Nothing OS 3.0 has a clearer, more user-friendly UI with smaller circular icons.
Most of the Nothing users are demanding Nothing that changes on quick setting design or in layouts, not it finally happening with the Nothing OS 3.0.
Carl has shared a very interactive, simple UI layout of the quick setting of Nothing OS. While Carl asked for feedback on what we should improve, the user loved the design and also shared some feedback about the design. (We already discuss all of the feedback from the user).
The redesigned layout is a most demanding interface that the user wants to get on the next updates. Look at the red accents, which indicate the setting is on, while on white accent button also indicates it is active and the black fonts with the gray background, look like a very amazing combination all over the text fonts, colors, and shapes.
The notification bar is now more clearly like an iOS device, but the user demanding adds the clear button as the OS had before.
If you look at the top section of the Time, Dates, and Status bar, they all are reshaped and redesigned in every swipe, which the user likes.
4. Interactive Dot Animations
The brand has not yet shared the full details about the Interactive Dot Animation features, as per the Carl Pei shared images, it will be related to apps and widgets.
We can guess that quick-setting widgets control animation dots with smooth animation while changing the settings.
5. Community and Gallery Apps
Carl has been sharing the “we want to develop a Gallaly and Community App, will it be important?
Nothing has already rolled a Community headline widgets features over all Phones. They may be planning to get their own app on their devices like the Other brands like Oneplus (having their own Gallery and Community App).
While the user is demanding for Nothing customized gally app, it might be on Nothing OS 3.0.
There are noting yet updates, whether they are working or not.
6. Private Space
One of the most liked features of the Android 15 on the Google Pixel devices. May Nothing want to adapt these features on the OS 3.0.
Carl already shared on X that asking the to user implement the private space is like the hidden app icons implemented. As one replied fan told YES, we want like these features.
The private space will help to keep all your files private and secure while you are giving your phone to others or trying to hide something. While Nothing OS already has to switch User features, it same.
7. App Archiving
One of the main features that having the Android 15, comes with is Nothing OS 3.0. It works like the Apple App Archiving features, the app and the app data will be on the device but the app will be achieved, when you use that app again it starts again, it’s like resuming features.
It helps to save more space for that app, and also you won’t lose your data.
This feature is already on the Play Store, you can use this.
