The Nothing CEO Carl Pei has announced the Closing of Nothing Blockchain-Based Community Rewards.
On August 3, 2024, The CEO of Nothing, taking a surprising move for the future growth of the company, announced that they will end the Community-based Dots Program, which was launched in 2021 and is part of the Company’s forward thinkers’ approaches to blockchain technology trends.
The announcement, shared by the CEO & Co-Founder Carl Pei, “ The Dots program will be closing on Aug 16, 2024.” ends our unique experiments in integrating the NFTs into our community rewards system, on the Nothing community website.

The Rise and Fall Of Community Dots.
The Dot Program was introduced in early 2021 when the rise of blockchain and NFT technology. As a young and innovative company, Nothing aimed that leverage rising technology trends to create a new kind of community experiments.
This Dot Program allowed all its members to acquire digital tokens (Dots), which granted them access to exclusive benefits such as exclusive chat access, discounts for products and early access, and giveaways.
However, over time, it became clear that the technology could be more user-friendly and easier to understand.
Also, Carl has said that “these kinds of rewards programs will come soon on to nothing community members”.
What Happened to the Dot Holder.
Carl has shared “To thank our Dot holders, we are offering a final Dot reward:”, which means they will offer rewards to all the Dot holders as gifts, and coupons.
Red Dot Holder: These holders will receive 1 x Nothing Phone (2a) Plus and 1 x Nothing audio product, either Ear or Ear (a) in one color of their choice.
These rewards are available to those, who held a Red Dots before the announcements on August 2, 2024, at 12:30 pm BST.
Black Dot Holder: These Holders can claim a Voucher worth $80/EUR60/£50 for use on the nothing.tech, or INR 4000 for Flipkart in India (Valid on the selected Nothing Products Until December 31, 2024.)
The End Of Era.
As part of the program has closed, the dots.nothing.tech website and associated services with this program will be offline on 16 August at 11:00 AM BST.
The Dot holders must transfer their digital assets to alternative platforms like MetaMask, before August 16, 2024. All the holders verify their Dot holding on the nothing discord server #dots-verify channel.
