The Nothing’s CMF Phone 1 has been released on Monday, July 8, 2024, in India, the UK, the US, Germany & Japan. It became available for purchase on July 12, 2024, at noon on the cmf.tech website, Flipkart(In India), and some retail stores.
The CMF Phone 1 has been packed with OS 2.5-based with Android 13, now it received the Nothing OS 2.6 and Android 14-based. Also, the same updates will be received on Nothing Phone 1, Phone 2, and Phone 2(a) in the next months.
The updates impressed me with its 4 news features, here we get some information about what those features are and how you use them.
1. Game Mode: Nothing OS 2.6 Features
The Nothing OS 2.6, has dedicated gaming mode features, which will be coming to all the Nothing phones On this CMF Phone 1, you get it on Setting>System>Game Mode, and you get 5 features settings that you can customize according to your preference:
- Game List Management: is used to add and remove the games for applying or removing Game mode.
- Game Slider: It is like a quick panel to access some quick settings like brightness, recording, call, and notification, you can access it while you are playing.
- Notification Display: When you play the games, how do you want to view your coming notifications, thee is 3 options default, Minimal, and OFF.
- Mistouch Prevention: Sometimes the gamers accidentally touch another section which interrupts the gaming experience, if you are on this setting then there will be no interruptions on your gaming.
- Game Dashboard: This is an advanced feature on gaming mode, it Manage all the installed games on your device. When you click on it it will redirect to the Google game mode setting, and you can get settings like adding the floating icons or applying DND for Games.
2. Pop-up View For Apps: Nothing OS 2.6 Features
This feature is very cool, it helps those who want to multitask.
It is a simple drag-and-drop feature, that works on recent apps, the use is very simple to open recently used tap, hold the app, and drag to anywhere on the screen, also you can resize the pop-up windows according to your uses.
Make sure before you want to use the feature active the setting>System.
3. AI Vivid Mode on Camera App: Nothing OS 2.6 Features
The feature is integrated with the Camera App, it is a standard photo mode, for taking enhanced and balanced color photos.
It uses AI to understand the situation of the object like light, day, or night, backgrounds and foregrounds, and based on the analyzed data, gives optimized photos after clicking.
4. Battery Health Features: Nothing OS 2.6 Features
This is a very new feature to the Nothing Phones. It is a very simple health management feature, which helps to manage, optimize, setting standby of the battery to get some extra hours of battery life.
It is like the iOS 18 battery health feature. There are plenty of predefined options to choose the optimizing battering level while charging such as choosing between the 70%, 80%, and 90% charging limits.
